During the March 12, 2026, Regular URA Board Meeting, staff presented the draft Commercial Facade Grant Program guidelines. The program is intended to improve the physical appearance of commercial storefronts in Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods, as part of the Main and Main Initiative.
The proposed guidelines outline that eligible businesses located in the City of Pittsburgh or property owners with commercial storefronts may apply for reimbursement of up to 75% of approved project costs, up to $20,000, for eligible improvements. Examples of eligible facade renovations include painting, storefront lighting, new windows or doors, new or repaired signage, or repaired masonry.
